After breakfast, head to the harbor and board a traditional wooden boat for a scenic trip to Prison Island (Changuu Island), located approximately 30 minutes from Stone Town.
Originally intended as a prison in the late 19th century, the island later became a quarantine station and is now one of Zanzibar’s most popular attractions.
Upon arrival, you’ll have the opportunity to meet the famous Aldabra Giant Tortoises, some of which are over 100 years old. Learn about their conservation and take memorable photographs with these gentle giants.
After exploring the island, enjoy free time for swimming or snorkeling in the warm, turquoise waters surrounding the island. The colorful coral reefs are home to tropical fish and other fascinating marine life, making this a great experience for nature lovers.
Later in the afternoon, return to Stone Town or continue to your beach resort, where you can relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
